Recently, lots of students have asked me to adapt my courses for IPad/IPhone, tablet computers, etc. I’ve just found a good way to do so easily and really nicely. Moreover, it will simplify and improve the learning process for you in many ways.
chess learningI’m going to move my courses to the “Udemy” learning platform. So, what is Udemy?

Udemy is the world’s online learning marketplace, where 7 million+ students are taking courses in everything from programming to yoga to photography – and much, much more.

I’ve already moved the FREE mini-courseThe Secrets of Strong Chess Players” here: LINK

Even if you have studied this mini-course in the past, I always recommend that you repeat studying important lessons a few times. Only then do you develop a real SKILL that you can apply in a practical game.

These lessons are one of the most popular things I’ve ever done – they have already collected around 500,000 views on YouTube. It’s definitely worth giving it a go, as it contains powerful information. 🙂

designThere is a famous quote by the ‘endgame-expert’, Capablanca:

“To improve at chess, you should in the first instance study the endgame.”

– Jose Capablanca

jose capablancaI’ve often said that the endgame stage is like an ocean – there are a lot of things that you can learn about endgames, like theoretical positions, fundamental positions, endings with different pieces, checkmating patterns and lots more.

To help you UNDERSTAND and surf this ocean easily, we’ll be adding a new premium video about endgames to our shop. 🙂
surfTalking about chess openings, we conducted a survey few weeks ago to hear your requests for our future opening courses. Many of you preferred courses on the “Sicilian Defence” opening and some 1.d4 openings.

Recently, we released the course the “Bogo-Indian Defense” (LINK) as a way of fulfilling your wishes for 1.d4 openings.
newFor the “Sicilian Defence” opening, we’ll be adding a premium video which is about a famous variation of the Sicilian. It is the “Grand Prix Attack”.

Therefore, extending our duty to provide the BEST lessons and courses for you, the two new products from GM Simon Williams we’ll be adding to our shop are “Killer Endgames” with GM Nick Pert and “Killer Grand Prix” with GM Gawain Jones. 🙂

They will be released on Thursday 27 August. Stay tuned, as I may be providing you with some huge offers!

Finally, I’d like to confirm one small but important point. In recent times, we’ve been providing you with video lessons and courses from our guest coaches and partners. At the same time, I take part in everything that RCA produces. Even if a lesson is recorded by another author, I supervise this process, making sure that you get a high-quality lesson.

P.S. I’ll be sharing my own review of the two products – “Killer Endgames” and “Killer Grand Prix” – with you very soon. 🙂

  1. I really prefer the new platform so I can watch videos on my Macbook. As it is now, I had to buy a Windows PC just to download and play my RCA videos. I use that PC for nothing else.

    1. Thanks for your feedback!

I’m sorry for the troubles you’ve had to experience. This is the reason I was looking for a soluition for those who have Mac computers. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

  2. Thanks Igor for udemy and the courses you are going to add on 27 august but I have ab issue can you please do a webinar on grand Prix and d4 openings ???

  3. Actually I don’t plan to make new webinars, at least as of now. Different students have different datetime preferences. For instance, the US day time is your (Indian) night time. It’s hard to make it convenient for everyone.

As for the GrandPrix, I’m going to launch a complete course about it very soon. Stay tuned.
“d4 openings” is a very huge topic. Anyway, I’m analyzing the feedback I received from the students, and will be preparing new opening courses gradually.

  4. thankyu so much igor for this reponse you are great dear igor please make the new course on the grandprix by yourself because other coaches don’t explain the ideas theme and plan too much for ex i had already watched the two dvd you are going to release i like them but gawain jones is not explaning how he find those right moves in the games.i use your thought process to understand those complex situations.

  5. When it comes to openings you have to memorize some lines. Even top GMs do so. Of course, if you understand the general ideas behind the moves, you’ll remember them easier.

You are most welcome to apply the general rules that you learnt from my courses to understand the opening lines better. GM Jones go through this opening in such great details that it’s very instructive for sure.

It’s nice to see your high evaluation of my coaching – thanks for that! Nevertheless, I will be engaging other coaches too.

    – Firstly, every coach has his area of specialization.

    – Secondly, due to my busy schedule I can’t make new courses often or even periodically.

    – Thirdly, even if the course is not made by me, I supervise its production, and make sure it’s good. I recommend the partner products only if I studied it myself and truly enjoyed it.
    – Finally, if you studied my courses seriously, your understanding should be good enough to understand the moves yourself (using the fundamental principles), even without my detailed explanation. During a real game, you can’t ask for my advice, right? 🙂 You have to develop your own proper thinking process.

Good luck in your chess battles!

  6. “NO technical issues – at all! You learn the courses online. Hence, you don’t need to download them, decompress them or do anything else.”

I find this a bit disturbing. I was planning to purchase more courses, but I don’t always have access to the internet, so it’s not worth it for me if I can’t download the course to my hard drive. Is that option going to be eliminated with this Udemy service? And if so, can you indicate the last date that it will still be possible to download a course after purchasing it?
