My antivirus program found a virus in your course.

Think you’ve found a virus?

Sometimes a security program (e.g. firewall, antivirus) will block or delete the course’s files, but there should be no reason for concern. Your course been checked many times by several different programs, so I can guarantee that there are NO viruses.

What happens is that some antivirus programs are too suspicious and will treat unknown *.exe files as a virus. This, however, it is not correct. The course file is simply a program which is not very popular and that’s why your antivirus doesn’t know it.

How do you remedy this situation?

The simplest fix is to just turn off your antivirus software. Alternatively, you may add the course to your antivirus program’s exceptions so that it will no longer be checked. Most antivirus programs have such a “white list”. You may then try again to use the course.

If for some reason the course doesn’t work properly, the most likely scenario is that your antivirus has deleted or quarantined or blocked some files. Should this be the case, please consider the following:

  • Now that there should be nothing getting in the way, try once again to decompress the files contained in the *.zip archive and to run the course.

  • If unable to decompress the file, perhaps it is incomplete or damaged in some way. In this case, you should download the course again using the link in the e-mail that was sent to you after your purchase.
