On the release day, we published the twelfth chapter from the course, where IM Ratkovic explained how to play when Black accepts the pawn with 2…dxc4. However, as we said earlier, that’s an unusual reply. One of the main variations is Black playing 4…Bf5 in the following move order: 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 c6 3.g3 Nf6 4.Bg2 Bf5. This is a common variation after Black’s 4…dxc4 and 4…Bg4.
White’s plan in this variation is similar to the one in the 4…Bg4 variation. White would follow with 5.Qb3, attacking the b7-pawn, and then be ahead of Black in development. You can watch the complete analysis of this variation from the eighth chapter.
