RARE But Aggressive Opening Against The Scandinavian Defense [Leonhardt Gambit]

Today I’m excited to share with you a very dangerous and aggressive chess opening for White to counter the Scandinavian Defense. It is the Leonhardt Gambit, which arises after the following moves: 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.b4.

The move 4.b4 is sure to surprise many of your opponents; only 4% of games have been played with this variation. Even Hikaru Nakamura has used this gambit against other top-level grandmasters and secured many victories. Therefore, you can do it just as well!

The main advantage of the Leonhardt Gambit is that White keeps gaining tempo by attacking the exposed Black queen, thus gaining a significant positional advantage through rapid development.
