The Bishop Pair Advantage | Powerful Chess Strategy

The bishop pair advantage (also known as the double bishop advantage) is a powerful chess strategy because two bishops can control a lot of squares, especially in open positions. In this video lesson, the RCA guest coach IM Maximiliano Perez will teach you the power of having a bishop pair and how to convert that advantage into a win.

From this lesson, you will learn: how to play with the bishop pair advantage, how to convert this advantage into a win, and when to trade one of the bishops at the right moment for winning the game.

IM Maxi presents to you a couple of examples – one game between the former world chess champion Alexander Alekhine and Reuben Fine. And the other game by Vladimir Kramnik where he beautifully converted his bishop pair advantage against the knight pair.
